- Utilizes annulus as a separation chamber.
- Production water cut is 0%.
- Water is returned to producing formation.
- No need to lift and dispose of water.
- Compatible with most existing production systems.
How it Works
- Reservoir fluid enters the production casing
- Fluid moves through the lower separator valve assembly and into the casing anulus.
- As the emulsion is separated in the annulus, water is returned to the bottom of the producing formation and water free oil is lifted to surface.
Cost Savings
- Eliminates need for surface separation system.
- Eliminates need for water handling and disposal infrastructure.
- Downhole pumps are not lifting water surface.
- Increased longevity of surface equipment.
- Extended economic life-span of well.
- Lower well site reclamation costs.
Environmental Impact
- Cleaner, simpler surface facilities and infrastructure.
- Elimination of environmental risks with producing salt water.
- No surface saltwater splills.
- Reduced need for disposal facilities.
Applications
- New wells – significantly reduce capital cost of water handling and disposal facilities.
- Recompletions – elimination of ongoing operating costs associated with saltwater handling.
- High water cut older wells – wells that are past economic viability can be revived.
- Horizontal or vertical wellbore applications.
- Cased or open-hole completion applications.
